THE YEAR THAT WAS.

Reflecting over the past twelve months at RFT brings a little tear to my eye and a smile to my face. It has been a busy and successful 2017 for the RFT team and so much has happened.

It all started off in Hoyle Avenue and ended in Salisbury Rd. inbetween the two there has been many laughs and memories made. It started off with the RFT Accelerate Challenge in Feburary, where we helped get over 80 people healthier and fired up their results and passion for health and fitness. With clean eating and more movement into their daily lives. The results were amazing and so in September we followed up with RFT Accelerate 2.0.

March rolled around quickly and it saw the first ice bath for the RFT community. A refreshing and powerful way to fire up the central nervous system and revitalise our insides and ant hindering aches and pains. We had an amazing turn out with many members turning up and giving it a go. And what an experience it was, so much so that we held another ice bath during the second chanllenge in September. Where another 65+ humans signed up to reclaim their health and improve on their daily habits which increased their health and wellness, creating long term sustainable lifestyle habits. Another milestone happened in March and that was becoming finalists in the ‘Australian Small Business Awards’. This was a huge testament to co-founders Mitch and Vicky of all their hard work and health focused direction of the business. Constanlty staying true to the direction and purpose of Real Fitness Training. Proving that anything is possible when you are living on purpose. So the team swapped the lycra and nikes for black tie attire and headed off to a night of glitz and glamour.

April is next and with the exciting news of RFT upgrading and expanding into bigger premises renovations were underway. A good solid month of packing, moving, smashing, tearing up carpet, painting and much much more Real Fitness Training found a new home in Salisbury. So many members came on board to help with the massive move and it was ever so appreciated. Lifting treadmill’s and a “weighty” leg press isn’t easy (well it didn’t look easy!!). Many hands sure did make life work. And as if we were in a scene on the reality show “The Block” tools were down and members and family came streaming through the front door in May. It was an exciting time for us. Opening up a brand new space for our members and the public to come to and become healthier and fitter. A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into RFT 2.0 and it was all worth it.

As we settled into the new studio in June, July rolled around in no time at all and it was time for Open Day. Where Mayor Yvonne Keane officially opened the gym to the Hills community. It was a big day of healthy BBQing, loads of raffles and prizes and a train the trainer raffle at the end of the day, which seemed quite popular with all of our clients, seeking revenge on us all. All in all it was a memorable day and month in the new studio.

August was here in a blink of an eye which saw a new innovative way to train come to Real Fitness. The latest addition to our studio, 6 on 1 semi-private training. With many new commers to RFT to start the semi-private training as well as RFT members taking a keen interest and integrating the new style of training into their weekly regime. It didn’t take long for the program to take off!  The method of training has been popular and people enjoying the smaller group atmosphere it brings. Now running five semi-private sessions each day the training program has become a huge hit.

Well wasn’t October an exciting month!! What happened in October?? Only the most exciting engagement of the year. With Mitch going down on one knee to ask Vicky to be his forever, the answer was of course YES!!! With such a big year the exciting news of Vicky and Mitch’s engagement really was icing on the healthy, clean eating, gluten free cake. A huge congratulations to them both.

Novemeber seemed to be a popular month for Birthday’s (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) not only was it Vicky’s and my own birthday but even better RFT turned the big FOUR. Four years of business and making The Hills community a healthier and happier place. What started out in the corner of a cross fit gym and has now blossed into 384 square meters of pure RFT bliss. Where goals are set and dreams are turned into reality.

Which now brings us to December where reflecting on the year that was is quite remarkable to see just how much the RFT family jammed into one year. How far we have come and how many beautiful souls we have met. All this of course could not have been possible without the support and love from our members. So we thank you all very much for the year that was and we hope you all have a very safe and enjoyable Christmas break. Thankyou for being apart of our big year and we look forward to an even happier and helathier 2018. Bring on the new year and new adventures.

Don’t forget semi-private training is on from the 27th-29th December.
